Royal British Legion members from the Kidderminster area have been helped in their Poppy Appeal by a restored armoured car.
Mike Salter, aged 65, from Birchen Coppice, Kidderminster, bought the vehicle from a scrapyard and has since lovingly restored the historic vehicle called Titch.
He said: “I bought the vehicle in 1996 and it has been used to help raise funds ever since. Over the years Titch has helped raise more than £20,000 for the Legion.”
Mike is a standard bearer for the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regimental Association and has been helped during the Poppy Appeal by 56-year-old Martyn Carter. parade marshall for Far Forest & Rock.
He will station Titch outside Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday and Martyn will be on parade with standard bearers outside Wilkinsons in the town centre next Tuesday at 10am.
The Remembrance Day Parade will take place on Sunday with people taking part gathering in New Road car park at 10:15am.
